Trifextra: Vampirella

Vampirella

On a dying planet, starving and hopeless, I drank from the humans’ cup and felt my strength return.

Across the universe now, I atone for my sins. Hunting my kind. Protecting the lifeblood.

This is my submission for this weekend’s Trifextra challenge. We had to write exactly
33 words about the origins of a superhero.

  1. Good one! I always liked the idea of a good vampire. Trying to make up for the horror that they have become, fighting their base urges. A nice base for a story.

    1. Well, the blood that keeps her alive, of course! 😉 I wish I could claim credit for Vampirella, but the truth is she’s a comic book heroine from the sixties. (I would love to work on a script for a modern movie version though…)

  2. What a lovely piece-unique choice for a Super hero- & thankfully one, which though I never came across,is clear to me from your post:-)

  3. There is actually a lot going on in these 33 words. A strengthened vampire protecting her food source….us…….by battling other vampires who wish to harm us but, at the same time, selfishly, eliminating competition for her food source……..us. Not certain as to whether she is a hero or merely selfishly protecting her food supply. Either way, lots of possibilities in very few words.
My but, aren’t you just the excellent, excellent writer, Suzanne!!! 🙂

    1. Aw geez, thanks Tom! Yeah, she’s a bit complex — but I guess a lot of superheroes are. Though she’s a bit more like a farmer protecting her chickens from the wolves… 🙂 Thanks for commenting!
