Residue

Residue

Wading through layers of mottled reflections
Struggling to touch that single moment of clarity
Where you and I line up

But the wind shifts
Rippling the glass
And you slip out of reach.

This is my submission for this week’s Trifecta writing challenge, in which they asked us to write 33 words inspired by image above.

  1. This is gorgeous, my friend. Sometimes it’s a painful realization, but in your gifted words it’s poetic. And I wish I’d have known you when I was younger too. Look out world, I say;)

  2. This took my breath away, Suzanne. Really, it did. Everything about it resonated with me, from the title to the gorgeous words you chose – mottled reflections, that single moment of clarity where you and I line up. Simply stunning work. Wow.
