It’s Not You

Griffon Vulture #1

It’s Not You

She left me on the edge of a barren land.
Emptiness stretched out as far as I could see.
Vultures circle as I follow the sun home.
I said I needed space, but that wasn’t what I meant.

  1. In relationships I also allow a little space, just so that they never really need anymore.
I loved the flow and ebb of this, felt the “wish I hadn’t said that” piece of my younger self. It was that good.

    1. Aw, thank you so much, Kir! Space is so important in any relationship, but sometimes it takes time (and some self-confidence) to be able to see that. 🙂

    1. Oh, I definitely meant for it to be funny! So I’m really glad you saw the humour in it – as well as the contrast with the language. Thanks so much for commenting! 🙂

  2. Ooooohhhhhh. No messing with that one! I’m not so sure home is the best idea!! Smooth and funny, Suzanne!
