You and I
We were born inside the chaos
Forged with molten rock
Driven by the ocean
And tossed upon unfamiliar shores
Battered and weary
We fought the demons that followed us
Armed to the teeth
With integrity and love
And somehow we made it through
But not unscathed
I am scattered
A million pieces
In all directions
And you
You are stoic
Collecting fragments
Building something new
Outside the chaos.

This is for my wonderful husband.
Apologies for the incongruent sappiness (especially this week), but he’s really freaking awesome and it is Valentine’s Day!
No apologies necessary… he is a lucky man.
Aw, thanks Ted! 🙂
